Jaime started preschool last week. The first day she was instructed to bring a page that would help her classmates get to know her. They learn letters, colors, numbers, and sight words to begin reading. So far, she has been loving it. I think it's good for her to have something special that she gets to do all on her own, without Mom, Dad, or little sister. She seems the thrive on social interaction and I'm excited for her to learn alongside her peers. Her teacher taught kindergarten for 17 years and knows her stuff. Jaime is in good hands. It's close enough to walk to and seems like the perfect fit.
Vida was heartbroken when Jaime went to preschool without her. I guess I had failed to make clear that she wouldn't be going too - after all, she had attended the open house and met the teacher just like Jaime. Every time Jaime goes Vida is sad, but I hope I can make it exciting enough for her to have time alone with mom, that is, until the new year...
