15 months

Vida is at such an adorable age.  She's beginning toddlerhood with a new sense of independence and adventure.  She climbs things, babbles and is learning new words.  She's also still a baby.  She listens when we ask her to do things, loves to cuddle, and has all sorts of cute baby chub.

Now that Vida can walk, communicate and understand most toys, she and Jaime have become best buddies.  Gradually, I've noticed them seeking each other out to play on their own.  When Vida wakes up from naps she and Jaime rush to each other and give each other a long hug.  It's about the cutest thing I've ever seen.

I love seeing her personality more and more: the sweet, the defiant, the easy going and the crazy.

Still present is her love of food.  There isn't a point in the day where you can't find something she'd like to eat.  Her favorite part of Christmas wasn't the toys, it was sneaking around to everyone's pile and stealing their treats while they were occupied with presents.

She still has a very high pain tolerance.  The other day at church a kid bumped her and she completely wiped out face down on the floor.  She got up like nothing had happened and the moms around us were shocked, asking "is she okay?"  I had to explain that yes, she is, she just doesn't cry.  In all fairness, she does cry from chronic pain like teething and for comfort when she's tired, but bumps and bangs are no biggie to her.  This really comes in handy with a 3 year old in the house.  Vida can endure quite a lot without raising the alarm.

I love watching her grow up before my eyes, and it's amazing how fast and slow time can go.  How much has passed and how much there still is to go.  Time can be funny like that, and I'm sure glad Vida is one of the ones I get to spend it with.

So wonderful. You brought tears to my eyes, but, well, I guess that really isn't too hard.
