Homemade Chocolates

If you know my mom, you probably know her homemade chocolates.  I learned to make these with her and people are always amazed and in love with them, even though they are so easy it's ridiculous.  Follow along with me.

First, melt a couple of chocolate bars (my favorite to use for this is Hershey's Symphony Bar with almond and toffee bits) using a double boiler system.  Stir occasionally.

When the chocolate is completely melted (mine still had chunks because of the almond and toffee bits), remove from heat.

Stir in roasted nuts (mine were almonds) gradually until most of the chocolate is on the nuts and not in a pool at the bottom of the bowl.

Scoop tablespoon sized amounts onto wax paper and let sit until stiff.  This will take a few hours.  (Note: if you use chocolate chips, it will take longer for the chocolate to set and even then it will still be soft.)

Enjoy!  But do try and give some away.  We made these for Valentine's day and distributed them in cute Valentine bags.

These were so good. I had a hard time saving some for Adam to try. But man they are so good! Thanks for sharing how you made them.
