The simple purchase of a new stove and matching over-the-range microwave turned into a project that'll end up costing at least ten times the purchase amount of the appliances....ugh. We wanted to put the microwave above the oven which required removing the ceiling, redoing lighting, removing cabinets, removing wallpaper, painting....the list goes on. I'm not accustomed to this type of mess, having never remodeled anything in any of the houses I've ever lived in.
Today I was mentally lamenting the state of my house as I drove away to get pizza for our magnificent adult helpers and our six, I repeat SIX, little "helpers" (ages 8, 6, 3, 2, 1 and 0). It's been so hard for me to have this chaos and I was so frustrated. And then I saw it. A sight I hope I never forget - a homeless man sitting on a bench next to a shopping cart filled with the only possessions he owned. Yes, today was chaotic and my house will be a mess for awhile - but at least I have a home. I still have somewhere warm and comfortable to sleep tonight and so do my children. I have a wonderful husband, beautiful children and plenty of family that would never let us be without a home, and in fact come to our aid as we wade through this mess. Considering this impoverished and lonely man I realized there really isn't anything to be frustrated with.

Been there, done that, but it was planned. It is true that we have more to be thankful for than we sometimes remember. Thank you for the reminder!
Wow Wow Wow!! It's such a good thing you have help. Lots of crockpot dinners?
Wow, that is different than I remember it! Can't wait to see the new and improved kitchen.
We did something like that in our house, and let me tell you, I never want to have to do dishes in the tub again. And yet, I am so grateful I had a bath tub that I could do the dishes in!
Wow, Jodi that was beautiful. Such a wonderful experience to remind us all of gratitude. Love you Sis!
