Jaime got her first haircut on Wednesday at the hands of her generous great aunt. It was strange to me that I had misgivings about cutting her hair when I have never had such feelings about my own hair. I've never been apprehensive about cutting any amount of my hair off, yet I was almost emotional about cutting off two inches of her hair. It's the hair she's had since she was a baby. I didn't want to see it go.
But, it was time to face the scraggly-hair reality she was living.

We pony-tailed and saved the length in the back. This will be sent to Taiwan and made into calligraphy brushes, compliments of our best Taiwanese friends who have been begging us to cut her hair ever since she was born. They made calligraphy brushes out of their kids' first hair cut and want to do it for Jaime's too.

I can't imagine what they'll look like - curly blonde bristles instead of straight black ones. We shall see!
We got it bobbed, without bangs. So far it looks like the curls were cut off and won't come back on the new ends. So sad! But it's still pretty cute.

(this is a picture of her enjoying a spoon of sour cream)

Cute haircut! I never had a problem cutting my boys hair, but it is fun to savor that first cut!
Love the hair cut. So cute on her.
I, unlike you, don't have any misgivings about cutting their hair. My cute boy has had 2 hair cuts in the last month. :)
She is beautiful!! Cute hair before and after.
