I was privileged to host these lovely ladies (plus one not pictured) at my home last weekend for a ...GIRLS WEEKEND! Okay, so we were all a bit overly excited for this. In the 3 1/2 years since I have joined the family, we haven't enjoyed this "annual" event until now. We sent the husbands packing with the kids and got down to the fun stuff.
Temple, shopping, hair, nails, food and football. Who can ask for more than that? And all without kids? It was magical. As part of the festivities we all shared something we are passionate about. Topics included scripture reading, healthy eating, dating, organization, flylady and party planning.
It ended with the disappointing BYU loss to University of Texas and the even more disappointing news that my grandfather passed away.
My grandpa was always a strong mountain man that seemed to tough anything out. His lovely wife passed away 3 years ago, but Grandpa had been going strong despite heart problems. A couple of weeks ago he took a fall that necessitated hip surgery. Complications from recovery lead to his passing away on Saturday, September 10th. Justin, Jaime and I will be making the trip to Idaho this weekend to gather with friends and family in honor of his life on earth.
